A REFLECTION OF SAXON SPLENDOUR.
The name SAXONIA is a reference to the state of Saxony. It embodies the values and accomplishments of this region and, in particular, pays tribute to the proverbial “Saxon splendour”.
Saxony is renowned for its magnificent architecture, splendid art collections, and cultural diversity. Under the auspices of Augustus the Strong, the state’s capital transformed itself into a hub of the baroque movement that attracted many eminent artists. In Dresden’s new Semper Opera, composer Richard Wagner, for instance, found a fitting stage for the premieres of some of his most monumental operatic works. This spirit of artistry is reflected by every facet of the SAXONIA. In particular, its movements are a symphony of colours, combining the golden glow of the chatons, the cornflower-blue screws, and the ruby-red bearing jewels.
